MY STORY

Introduction To Drums
After spending every meal time tapping away on the dining table, my parents decided to treat me to a small drum kit. As a three-year-old, I had a lot of free time and I spent almost all of that time smashing out beats on this kit until it was sadly lost in the process of moving house. No worries though, because it still sparked a flame of passion ready for later on in my life!

Once A Drummer, Always A Drummer!
During a family holiday to Mexico in 2015, my long-lost love for drums came back when I had the opportunity to play a kit in the hotel lobby. My family then all chipped in to treat eleven-year-old me to a Roland TD-11 electronic kit. Following that, I saved up to get myself some lessons to help teach me the basics, and once lockdown hit during 2020, I taught myself different chops, double kick, and much more complicated beats than before. Using this kit, I decided to start uploading covers to social media, which, despite only a small number of views, played a large part in my drumming career!

From Bedroom To Big Room
By the time lockdown came to an end, I got myself my first job at a local country park. My boss and I got talking, in which she discovered that I was a drummer, and I discovered she was a singer in a band searching for a drummer! I sent her a link to my YouTube channel for her to watch my covers, which she shared with the rest of her band. It wasn't long until I was auditioning for the band and they gave me the place over seven other incredibly talented drummers. This shocked me, as I had massively underestimated my drumming ability, however, this gave me clarity! We fast-forward a couple of months and I am playing my first-ever gig. It was only a short set, but still enough to give me that heavily-addictive "stage high". December 2021 arrives and we have the opportunity to play with former Iron Maiden vocalist, Blaze Bayley! How could we turn THAT down? playing to an audience of 500+ at KK's Steel Mill, Wolverhampton is to this day the biggest, and almost the best gig I have played!
But if this isn't quite the best gig I've played, then what is? June 2022, my band put on our own gig at a much smaller venue. Seven incredible bands, with my band as headliners, an unbeatable atmosphere and a stage barely big enough to fit a full band on, I still can't shake that fantastic feeling months later, and I am looking forwards to hitting that stage again in 2023!

6 For 6
In January 2009, I got some money for my sixth birthday. My mum took me to the local shop, and straight to the toy aisle. We both spent a while looking at toy cars, action men, and plastic guns, however, the only thing that stood out to me was the bright red, rockstar-shaped 6-string. The journey on strings begins!

My Sweet Child
As any guitarist would tell you, Guitars are more like children than inanimate objects.
I remember being in the car with my dad, and he showed me "real music". The first song to come on was Guns N Roses's "Sweet Child O' Mine", and I was in awe hearing Slash's incredible solo! This inspired me to save up and buy a Les Paul, and made me want to learn the song., After spending hour after hour, day after day practising, I finally learnt to play the full song. The feeling you get after putting so much time into something and completing it is almost unbeatable!

Shred The Internet
After getting comfortable knowing my way around the fretboard, I started uploading videos to the internet playing different songs, as well as playing in a live and studio setting. without the videos online, I never would've had the opportunity to play live, and even though it took a long time, my videos are now reaching up to 45,000 Tik Tok views, with thousands of likes! The effort and frustration are worth it!

The Dawn Of Production
I often get asked where I get my musical talent from. My parents? No. My Brother? No. My Grandads? Correct! Both Grandads used to play the piano, one of which used to go around playing in pubs. Whilst working as an electrical engineer in a pub, he asked the owner if he could have a "tinkle on the ivories" during his lunch break. The owner listened and then hired him to entertain the guests on weekends. From here, he went around playing in multiple different pubs and restaurants. Every time I. went to his house, for as long as I can remember, he would teach me different things on the piano until I eventually knew enough to teach myself after he could no longer help me.

From School Desk To Mixing Desk
After listening to Kygo, Alan Walker and Mike Perry, I took a liking to EDM House Music. I used the skills I had developed on piano to start writing songs inspired by these artists, and took them to the studio. I showed myself my way around Logic X Pro, and took lessons to help learn Ableton Live 11. This helped me produce my own tracks, which are currently on hold from release until I find the right vocalist for each track. I also studied Level 3 BTEC in Audio Production and Technologies in college, which then took me on to study Popular Music BA Hons at the University of Gloucestershire.

Production, Pennies And Pints
After learning my way around different DAWs and a studio, I started producing tracks for my friends, in return for nothing more than a pint. Producing for multiple people meant I extended my range of genres, from DnB, to Pop, to Metal.
